6 Million Lights Campaign

A 5 year campaign for positive social change:
6 Million light makers.
6 Million lamps as luminous reminders.

Honoring the memory of the 6 Million Jewish victims of the Holocaust by putting light into the world.

Raye David, Auschwitz Survivor

6 Million Lights is a 5 year campaign to put more light into the world through 6 million individual living lights, honoring the memory of the victims of the Holocaust by being a force of good in the world.  Our lamps illuminate a way toward kindness, compassion, and love, dispelling darkness.

The Holocaust was only made possible through millions of individual choices, fueled by intolerance and groupthink.  It is perhaps the most chilling testament in history to the devastating outcome of unchecked hatred, bigotry, and the dangerous power of lies woven into societal norms.

Just as the Holocaust was the culmination of millions of individual choices, each an inflection point bending the way toward evil, preventing the next Holocaust must be through millions of individual choices, each an inflection point toward a world with more light.

Never again means that to truly honor the memory of the 6 million Jewish lives lost (and 5 million others), we must make a commitment to combat hatred, ignorance, and lies—no matter where in the world—in actions large and small. Complacency is not an option; we must all be upstanders.

6 Million Lights participants can either purchase a pre-made lamp or construct their own lamp while participating in one of our many online or in-person educational content.  The lamps serve as beautiful, luminous reminders of each person’s intention to put more light into the world.

Honoring the memory of the 6 Million:
6 Million light makers. 6 Million lights.
